Nagaland Govt. on high alert as deadline for solution of Naga problem draws nearer

Kohima Oct 22 (UNI) The Government of Nagaland has instructed all the Deputy Commissioners not to move out of their place of posting and remain within their jurisdiction till further order and the Director General of Police (DGP) has cancelled all leaves of Police personnel and asked them to report immediately to their posting places, as the deadline set by the Centre to resolve the vexed Naga political problem comes closer.
According to official sources the Government of Nagaland has directed all the Deputy Commissioners and administrative officers to remain in their place of posting and within their jurisdiction till further orders. It has also banned leave and recalled all police personnel on leave, excepting those on medical and maternity leaves already sanctioned.
Nagaland Chief Secretary’s office in a wireless message has directed that in case of extreme exigency, written permission of the Chief Secretary be obtained before leaving station through the Commissioner of Nagaland. All the Deputy Commissioners were asked to ensure that the instruction should be communicated to all administrative officers in their district. The message said any officer not available and not on medical leave already sanctioned, should be recalled.
