Nagaland Governor not to read Republic Day speech

Kohima, Jan 24 (UNI) Nagaland Governor, R.N. Ravi will unfurl the National Flag and take the Rashtriya salute on Republic Day non the 26th January 2020 at the state capital, Kohima.

According to an official release today “Unlike in previous years, the Governor will not be delivering the Republic Day address at the state capital, although his speech will be read out at all other places. However the Governor will be giving the Republic Day message on 25th January evening through All India Radio Kohima and Doordarshan Kendra Kohima.”

Meanwhile, preparations are going on in full swing at the Secretariat Plaza in Kohima for the state level formal function and exhibition by Government departments, sources said.

In a separate official release today “On the occasion of Republic Day 2020, the Governor of Nagaland R N Ravi will be hosting ‘AT HOME’ at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on 26th January 2020. During the programme Governor Ravi and Chief Minister Nagaland Neiphiu Rio will unveil the Plaque rechristening Durbar hall as ‘Dr T Imkongliba Hall.’ Speech will be delivered by the Governor followed by short speeches from Chief Minister Nagaland, Tali Longkumer and Dr S C Jamir. Governor and Lady Wife will felicitate 21 Naga personalities and Governor’s Award in various categories will be presented at the event. Chief Secretary Temjen Toy will pronounce the vote of thanks, the release said.
