Nagaland GBs body appeals Governor to call NSCN-K for truce

Kohima, Nov 21 (UNI) Nagaland Governor P B Acharya today stated that the Gaon Burhas (village headmen) have been playing a vital role in the governance of the State and is an essential component of the State Government.
According to a Raj Bhavan release today, addressing the members of the Nagaland Gaon Burhas Federation (GB Federation), which met the Governor today at the Raj Bhavan, Acharya appreciated the efforts of Gaon Burhas in the State in working towards creating a peaceful atmosphere and contributing towards Nation building.
Governor Acharya stated that Gaon Burhas were the main people to build their villages and called on the members to be agents in informing the targeted people of the various Central and State Government welfare schemes and programmes. This will bring development and progress to the society, he added.
