Nagaland DC imposes prohibitory order to control COVID-19

Kohima, Jul 9 (UNI) The Deputy Commissioner of Mon district of Nagaland Thavaseelan K in exercise of the powers conferred upon section 144 of the criminal procedure code 1973, has passed order for imposition of 144 (2) Cr P C in the interest of public health, public safety and public order in Mon District to contain COVID-19. According to official sources today, the DC notified that Covid-19 positive case have been detected at the quarantine centre in Government High School of Phomching on July 7 last, it has become necessary to take all required precautionary steps to mitigate the possible spread of Covid-19 for public health, public safety and public order. Therefore in the interest of public health, public safety and public order in Mon District and in exercise of the powers conferred upon section 144 of the criminal procedure code 1973 the DC has passed order for exparte u/s 144 (2) Cr P C.
This order will come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force till further orders. Any one violating the aforesaid order will be liable for punishment under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, the notification said.
