Nagaland CM meets HM Rajnath in Delhi for central aid

Kohima, Sep 11 (UNI) A delegation led by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio yesterday called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at his office chambers in New Delhi, seeking Central assistance for various projects including relief work.

According to a release issued by the CMO media cell today, as a follow up of an earlier request made to the Prime Minister, the delegation requested the Centre to sanction developmental projects for Eastern Nagaland. Rio also apprised Rajnath Singh about the damages caused by recent natural calamities, and urged for central assistance under NDRF and interim aid to mitigate the ongoing relief and restoration works. Besides this, the delegation also requested for modernization and upgradation of Village Guards in Nagaland. Rio further requested Rajnath Singh for sanctioning another helicopter to increase flying hours for Nagaland particularly for far-flung areas of the State.
