Nagaland CM appeals public to maintain calm for political unrest

Kohima, Jul 25 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang, in the backdrop of the political unrest that started in the beginning of the month and is yet to settle down, have appealed to the public to remain calm while also seeking forgiveness for any shortcoming on the part of the Government.
In a press communique issued by Mr Zeliang said “This is an earnest appeal made to the public of Nagaland to remain calm during this transition period of forming a new Government in the State. With your support and cooperation, we have come this far and as we prepare to enter a new era of peace, progress and all round development; I take this opportunity to assure you all, hope for a better tomorrow. A better tomorrow where my Government will work towards all round development with renewed vigour based on Christian ethos and principles. He also sought forgiveness for any shortcomings on the part of the Government stating ,”I seek forgiveness as to err is human but to forgive is divine.”
The chief minister also added that the essence of good Governance is trust and he appealed to the people for it. “I express my deepest appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the Government for the faith reposed on me and my Government once again and as we undertake this journey towards a better tomorrow, I seek your support, cooperation and prayers to move towards greater heights because the responsibility for good Governance does not lie with the Government alone but with all section of the Society, including the Church, Media, Non-Governmental Organisations and most importantly, the general Public,” the communique further stated.
