NABARD regional office GM calls on Pema Khandu

Itanagar, Jun 24 (UNI) Gopa Kumaran Nair, General Manager (GM) of NABARD, Arunachal Pradesh regional office, called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu here on Monday.
During the meeting, the CM praised NABARD and said the State is getting adequate benefits from its supported schemes.
He also highlighted the recommendations of conclave on ‘Perspective Planning for Resurgent Agriculture & Allied Sector in Arunachal Pradesh’ which was jointly organised by Arunachal Pradesh Government and NABARD the previous year, and urged for its early implementation.
The CM suggested participation of NABARD in the upcoming meeting meant for developing long-term road-map on June 27, which will be headed by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein.

The GM requested the CM to take necessary steps for enhancement of borrowing power under article 293(3) to utilise the loans already sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Fund of NABARD.

In view of low level of credit flow to agriculture, it was suggested that initiatives like suitable ‘One Time Settlement Scheme, a credit guarantee scheme, accelerated role of cooperatives, etc will help the state.
The CM expressed his happiness about the initiatives being taken up by NABARD in the state and requested to work more closely with Government for overall development of the state.
