Mysuru, Aug 17 (UNI) Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) became the first Division in the Indian Railways to provide free Wi-Fi facility in the all the Stations in the Division.
It was achieved in a span of just 75 days against target of 100 days set up Union Minister of State for Railway Suresh Angadi during a review meeting held at Hubballi on June 23, according to a release here on Saturday.
It was fulfilment of Prime Minister's Digital India Initiative, Ministry of Railways (MoR), in its 100-Day Action Plan had proposed to provide Wi-Fi Broadband facility to Rail users at 4791 Railway stations across Indian Railway network. Passengers can use the high speed internet free of cost for the first 30 minutes.
