Myanmar government approves thirty five small scale projects for Rakhine state

Naypyidaw, Dec 18 (UNI) The government has approved 35 projects to be carried out by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Rakhine State, the agencies said in a statement.
The projects will be implemented in villages that were part of the needs assessment conducted by the UNHCR and UNDP over the past three months.
“The small-scale, quick-impact projects were designed in consultation with the villagers to improve livelihoods, build trust and promote social cohesion among the different communities,” the agencies said in a statement, reports The Myanmar Times.
