MVA launches scorched-earth campaign against Maha govt

Mumbai, Jul 10 (UNI) The Maharashtra legislature’s Monsoon session concluded today amidst a firestorm of controversy, as the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led state government, labelling the session a calculated "sham" designed solely to ram through supplementary demands and legislation while abandoning the core concerns of the common citizen.
Despite logging 125 hours of legislative proceedings, opposition heavyweights—including Jayant Patil, Bhaskar Jadhav, Nana Patole, and Dr. Nitin Raut—denounced the administration’s performance as a profound failure, accusing the ruling coalition of prioritizing political manoeuvring over democratic accountability.
"The session was held merely to secure approval for supplementary demands worth Rs ₹97,000 crore and to push through bills in haste," the leaders said. They asserted that despite the opposition logging 125 hours of work, the government bypassed critical discussions. Out of 2,098 'Calling Attention' notices submitted, only 65 were taken up, and none of the 130 motions under Rule 97 were discussed.
