Muslim League has every right to express views, says Kerala oppn leader

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6 (UNI) Commenting on the difference of opinion expressed by Indian Union Muslim League regarding the statement of Congress leader Ms Priyanka Gandhi on the construction of temple of Lord Ram at Ayodhya, Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Chennithala on Thursday said the Muslim League as a political party has every right to express their views.
“What is relevant is their (IUML’s) opinion that none should indulge in any activity that creates communal polarisation which would eventually help the BJP,” Chennithala said, while recounting that it was the wisdom and restraint shown by Muslim League’s former state president late Janab Panakkad Syed Muhammadali Shihab Tangal during demolition of the Babri mosque that preserved the communal harmony in Kerala.
Chennithala said the statements of Ms Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on the ram temple construction clearly reiterate their commitment to protect secularism.
