Guwahati, Nov 5 (UNI) A museum dedicated to the life and works of Dr Bhupen Hazarika was inaugurated at his ‘Samadhi Kshetra’ (memorial) in Jalukbari area of Guwahati, Assam’s main city, today, as the state paid homage to the musical maestro on his seventh death anniversary.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal formally opened the museum, ‘Sonowali Suworoni’, which will showcase the different facets of Dr Hazarika’s life and his journey, including his creative compositions.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said, “Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s songs spoke of humanity, brotherhood and peace. He considered the whole world his home. Empathy for fellow human beings was the strongest quality of his character and we all must imbibe those humanistic values.”
