Murmu, Modi lead nation in paying tribute to Vajpayee on 4th death anniversary

New Delhi, Aug 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his Fourth death anniversary and said he had made pioneering efforts to transform India and prepare our nation for the challenges of the 21st century.
"Today, on the Punya Tithi of respected Atal Ji, visited Sadaiv Atal and paid tributes to him. We remain inspired by Atal Ji’s efforts to serve India. He made pioneering efforts to transform India and prepare our nation for the challenges of the 21st century" he tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu and the newly sworn-in Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar also visited ‘Sadaiv Atal’ a memorial park in New Delhi of the late prime minister and Bharat Ratna awardee to pay homage.
Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh and BJP president J P Nadda also visited the Sadaiv Atal’ to the tribute.
Various other leaders across the party line have also paid their tributes to the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In a tweet Amit Shah said, "Atal ji spent every moment of his life to restore the glory of Mother Bharati. He started a new era of poor welfare and good governance in Indian politics and at the same time made the world realize the courage and strength of India".
Remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his death anniversary, Rajnath Singh said , "I bow to him. The whole life of Atalji, who gave the mantra of development and good governance to the country, is a reflection of the depth of his personality and the height of his creativity. His contribution in the development journey of India is unforgettable".
Leader across the party line also paid their tribute to the former Prime Minister of India.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter to pay respects.
“My humble tributes to former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his death anniversary,” he tweeted.
NCP leader Ajit Pawar too paid his homage through Twitter.
"Tribute to our Former Prime Minister, ‘Bharat Ratna’ Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, who will always be remembered for his commitment to Indian Politics. #AtalBihariVajpayee " he tweeted.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adthyanath also paid floral to his portrait in the Lok Bhavan complex in Lucknow.
Atal Bihar Vajpayee was elected as prime minister for six years from 1998-2004, died in 2018 at 93 years of age.
He was awarded India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 2015 on his birthday.
