Mumbai records hottest June night in 57 years

Mumbai , June 13 (UNI) Mumbai recorded its hottest June night in 57 years on Friday, June 12, as minimum temperatures crossed 30 degrees celsius across the city, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The Colaba observatory logged a minimum temperature of 30.2 deg C, while Santacruz recorded 30.1 deg C, with both stations reporting temperatures above 30 deg C for the fourth consecutive day.
IMD officials attributed the unusual heat to a stalled monsoon surge over South Konkan and weak westerly winds, which have kept humidity levels high and nights uncomfortably warm.

CAG flags Rs 3,541 crore irregularities in Maharashtra’s Ladki Bahin Scheme

Nagpur/Mumbai, July 11 (UNI): The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has flagged serious financial irregularities in the implementation of the Maharashtra government's flagship Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, pointing to excess expenditure of Rs 3,541.16 crore and deficiencies in budget estimation, expenditure control and financial management.

HC raps NMC, seeks answer on selective bulldozer action over Fahim Khan house

Sangli police burn seized ganja and cocaine worth Rs 2 15 crore

Sangli, Jul 10 (UNI) Ganja and cocaine worth Rs 2.15 crore, seized in 65 different crime incidents by 17 police stations of the district police force, were burnt in a boiler in accordance with legal procedures. The operation was carried out at Surya Center Treatment Facility Pvt. Ltd. in Miraj MIDC.
According to an official press release, a total 1,021 kg of ganja and 276 grams of cocaine were seized in cases registered by 17 different police stations in the district regarding the smuggling, transportation and sale of narcotics.
