Mumbai conclave discusses ways to raise number of Muslim MPs

Mumbai, Aug 12 (UNI) The Muslim community has come together under one banner to study the causes of low representation of the community in Parliament and state legislatures and make urgent efforts to bridge the widening gap, a statement said on Monday.
Muslim Leadership Summit 2024, hosted by Muslim Welfare Association (MWA) in Mumbai over the weekend. concluded with the formation of a committee with representatives across India to give a report over the issue.
The committee would be headed by internationally-renowned Islamic scholar Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani Sahab, a veteran from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, and cleric Janab Tauqeer Raza Khan Sahab.
