Mukerian police arrests five persons from village Bishanpura

Hoshiarpur, Nov 27 (UNI) Mukerian police on Thursday night arrested five persons from village Bishanpura who were preparing to commit a robbery at a bank or an ATM in the area of Mukerian and seized a sword, sickle, 3 pistols alongwith 7 live cartridges and a car No. PB-02-DC-0671 from them.
According to the police sources, on a tip off about the presence of some anti-social persons in village Bishanpura who were preparing to commit a robbery at bank or the ATM, Sub Inspector of Mukerian police station Balwinder Singh alongwith a police party raided the said village and arrested Gursewak Singh, son of Sarwan Singh of Rasoolpur Kalan (Amritsar), Gurmej Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh of Akalgarh (Amritsar), Jobanpreet Singh, alias Joban, son of Balkar Singh of Jandiala Guru (Amritsar), Sherpreet Singh, alias Avtar Singh of Dashmesh Nagar Lola (Amritsar) and Gurjit Singh, son of Gurmukh Singh of Bode Nangal (Amritsar) from a car No. PB-02DC,0671. During their search police seized one each sword and sickle, 3 pistols alongwith 7 live cartridges from them.
A case under sections 399 and 402 of the IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act had been registered against them.
