MSEDCL Junior Engineer lands in ACB net while taking bribe

Thane, Nov 22 (UNI) The sleuths of Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught red-handed a Junior Engineer of the State-run power company while accepting Rs 50,000 bribe from the complainant.
The accused official have been identified as Vishal Bagul, the Junior Engineer of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd(MSEDCL)'s Warsoli branch at Alibagh of Raigadh district, ACB said.
The complainant alleged that the accused Bagul demanded Rs 1,10,000 bribe in lieu of slashing Rs 2,47,560 power bill.
Based on the allegation, a trap was laid today and the accused was nabbed red-handed while accepting accepting Rs 50,000 installment of total bribe amout, ACB stated.
Offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused, apprised Thane ACB Additional Superintendent of Police Mukund Hatote.
