Bhopal, Jan 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel averred on Tuesday that a Maa Narmada Trust Act is on the anvil for conserving the state’s lifeline river.
“Unauthorised mining, transport and sale – besides pollution – shall be stringently prevented. In the next half a decade, a Narmada Circumambulation Path, infrastructure development and resting places will come into being. The dispensation favours balanced tapping of the state’s abundant mineral wealth and a new policy shall be formulated. The work of sand extraction from rivers will be provided to local unemployed persons’ committees instead of contractors,” she said during her address to the House on the second day of the 15th Assembly’s maiden session.
