MP House discusses Bhopal Master Plan

Bhopal, July 12 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati expressed hope on Friday that the Bhopal Master Plan would witness implementation during the tenure of Urban Welfare and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh.
During the Question Hour, Mr Rameshwar Sharma (opposition Bharatiya Janata Party) desired to know the number of roads yet to be laid under the Plan.

“The city’s last such proposition was formulated in 1995. In 2005 and 2015, the then dispensation did not pay attention to this aspect. The present government shall endeavour to present a new plan by the conclusion of this year. Road laying is a continuous process for which it is impossible to set a time limit,” Mr Singh said.

Countering, Mr Sharma alleged that officials earmarked roads under the Plan and then said those were on forest land.

“Surveys are yet to commence with regard to 34 roads,” he added.

“Seventeen villages in the Member’s constituency have been linked with the planning area,” the Minister said.
