MP CM directs launching of special drive for welfare of urban poor

Bhopal, Jan 20 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today issued directives to launch a special drive to provide benefits to the urban poor under various beneficiary-oriented schemes from April 14 to September 25 to mark 125h birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, and birth centenary year of Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader late Pundit Deendayal Upadhyay.
These include beneficiary-oriented schemes, building permission, sanction of various pensions, mutation, house sanction etc. The Chief Minister was reviewing activities of Urban Development and Environment Department here today, an official release said.
“Urban bodies' services should be made easier for common people. Infrastructure-related works should be undertaken with quality within time-limit. Effective arrangements should be made for urban public transport. A scheme should be chalked out to reduce number of vehicles on urban roads,” he was quoted saying in a statement.
