Motorcyclist without helmet thrashes Sergeant and Civic Volunteer arrested from Bypass

Kolkata, Aug 19 (UNI) A motorcyclist riding his two-wheeler with wife and two children as pillions, arrested for alleged thrashing the police Sergeant and a Civic Volunteer on being warned for violating the traffic rule without the head gear on EM Bypass, police said today.
Rider Amit Kabiraj, a resident of Mukundapur of east Kolkata, was taken into the custody last night after he allegedly beat up Sergeant Satyendra Kunwar and Civic Volunteer Bijay Bhowmick near Highland Park around 2400 hours on Sunday.
The accused had not head gear, and his three pillion riders wife and two children. Police said the accused was in drunken state. Police said the arrested biker would be produced before the Alipur court later today.
