Mother Mary's birthday feast at Asia's biggest octagonal church in Hyderabad a low key affair

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) One of the iconic religious events of Hyderabad--Mother Mary's birthday feast-at Asia's biggest octagonal church-Shrine of Our Lady of Health- located in the A.C Guards area which used to attract lakhs of people from different parts of the country was a low key affair this year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The church authorities had appealed to the worshippers to avoid attending the church ceremonies on the feast day on Tuesday in view of the prevailing pandemic situation instead the birthday mass, novena and holy masses were live streamed to enable the people to watch the ceremonies in their homes on different TV channels.
The more than 100-year-old church built during the Nizamas era used to attract lakhs of people from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra Karnataka and other parts of the country every year on the feast day.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
