Mossad chief David Barnea says prime goal in Iran war remains regime change; calls Islamic Republic 'existential threat' for Israel

Jerusalem, Apr 14 (UNI) The chief of Israel's external intelligence service Mossad, David Barnea, detailing Mossad's objective in the war, said that it was aimed at bringing about a regime change in Iran.
Highlighting its role during the joint Israeli-US offensive in Iran, Barnea said that Mossad operated "in the heart of Tehran" for achieving its objectives.
One of the prime architects of the decapitation strike doctrine in Iran since hostilities erupted in February 28, Barnea admitted that the strikes did not cause the immediate collapse of the regime, as the Islamic Republic's internal institutions have shown surprising resilience.
