MoS Karan Singh supports Govt move of Raghunath shrine take-over against sibling ex-MP

Shimla, Aug 12 (UNI) In a bid to support the Himachal government's move of taking over of historic Lord Raghunath Mandir of Kullu, Minister of State for Ayurveda Karan Singh has filed an application before the High Court to implead him as party in the case against the petitioner and his brother, the chief caretaker of the shrine Maheshwar Singh.
The state government wanted to take over the control of the shrine established by the erstwhile royal family, but the High Court on August 1 has stayed the move on a plea from the chief caretaker of the temple.
On July 25, the state cabinet decided to take over temple and form a trust of Sultanpur, Kullu. Later, a notification was issued the next day directing the care taker and former BJP MP Mr Singh to hand over all properties, including movable and immovable, belonging to the shrine.
