More than 31.56 cr accounts opened so far under PMJDY

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) Government on Wednesday claimed that more than 31.56 crore accounts have been opened so far under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).

In a tweet highlighting the 4 years of achievement of Modi Government, Finance Ministry said that 59 per cent of Jan Dhan Accounts have been opened in the rural areas whereas 53 per cent of accounts belong to women.

According to the tweet the balance in the accounts on May 2, 2018 was Rs 81, 3017 crores.

Tweet claimed that one of the major decisions taken by the present Govt to fasten the process of Financial Inclusion was Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 28th August, 2018.
