Moon reaches closest point to earth, gives splendid view as biggest/brightest full moon of year across the counrty

Hyderabad, Apr 8 (UNI) Full Moon also called Supermoon gave a splendid view tonight, far away from restrictions of Corona lockdown.
It awe inspired the public with feel of freedom and cosmic connect in the city and across the country.
It was closest full moon of the year as moon reached perigee point (closest point) to earth.
Moon was 49,781 km near on Wednesday compared to March 24 last month giving a splendid view as a big moon for the public.
Planetary Society of India (PSI) Director N Sri Raghunandan Kumar told UNI that on March 24, the Moon at farthest point (Apogee) of the year was at 4,06,960 km. Whereas as a part of it's monthly journey around Earth, Moon reached closest point (Perigee) to Earth at 3,56,909 km on April 7.
He said whenever moon is at its closest point i.e., Perigee point and if it coincides (doesn't happen always ) with Moon being full, it appears biggest, brightest compared to any full moon, Mr Kumar said.
Though since few days it's cloudy in the city, the skyline suddenly cleared today offering splendid view for the people as a biggest/brightest full moon, the PSI Director said.
