Monsoon Session of K'taka Assembly to cut short its sitting

Bengaluru, Sep 21(UNI) The ten-day Karnataka Assembly session which began here on Monday, would be cut short to three days in the wake of a surge in COVID-19 cases.
According to official sources, Chief minister B S Yediyurappa communicated the decision to the Opposition parties leaders and sought their cooperation.
Opposition Congress leader Siddaramaiah, and the JD(S) leaders, have reportedly agreed to the state government's proposal to trim the number of days of the session with a condition that the Government will not push the controversial Land Reforms and the APMC amendment Acts.
