Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 17 (UNI) The death toll in rain-related incidents rose to 115 in Kerala on Saturday even as 27 people are still missing following torrential rains, floods and landslides in various districts since August eight in the state.
As many as 90,375 people from 33,364 families are still staying in 593 relief camps in various districts, even as several returned to their homes after water receded in their places, sources said.
According to the latest information available with the government, 6 people died in Alappuzha district, 2 each in Kottayam and Kasaragod districts, 5 in Idukki, 9 each in Thrissur and Kannur, 52 in Malappuram, 17 in Kozhikode, 12 in Wayanad and 1 in Palakkad districts till Saturday night.
As many as 27 people -- 19 from Malappuram and 7 from Wayanad and 1 from Kottayam -- are still missing, it added.
Sources said 1,204 houses were fully damaged and 12,877 houses have been partially damaged in the floods.
