Monsoon bird census in Odisha's Kanika forest range to commence from Aug 26

Kendrapara, Aug 6 (UNI) The monsoon bird census at Kanika Forest Range under Bhitarkanika National park is scheduled to be held from August 26 to 31 next.
Rajnagar Mangoves(forest) and Wildlife Division DFO Bikash Ranjan Dash said the three teams of forest officials would conduct the census at Laxmiprasad dia and Matha-adia heronry .
Matha-adiha heronry seems to be the favourite nesting and breeding place for the monsoon birds for last half decade and the monsoon birds since last year chose Laxmiprasad dia as their new favourite place for nesting and breeding

COVID-19: Toll in Bengal rises to 4,421; Highest single day casualty on Monday

Kolkata, Sep 22 (UNI) The COVID-19 toll in Bengal rose to 4,421 with the death of 62
persons on Monday, the highest so far on a single day since the first casualty to pandemic
was reported in March end, while the tally touched 2,28,302 with 3,165 new confirmed
cases.
