Panaji, Aug 25 (UNI) The Congress in Goa on Sunday demanded that city MLA Atanasio Monserrate should fulfill his promise of removing casinos from River Mandovi near the city.
Addressing a press conference at party state headquarters in the city, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar said, 'Now Mr Monserrate will complete 100 days as MLA of Panaji. He had promised to remove casinos within 100 days of his election as an MLA. Now he is in ruling side and we would like to remind him his promise.'
Mr Monserrate had contested assembly by-election held in April this year as Congress candidate but joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with other nine MLAs in July.
