Mohun Bagan regain Cal Football League after gap of 8 years

Kolkata, Sep 12 (UNI) Mohun Bagan on Wednesday regained the Calcutta Football
League (CFL) for premier division after a gap of eight years with a brace from
Henry Kisekka against Calcutta Customs in 2-0 result at home ground ending arch
rivals Quess East Bengal's past eight years supremacy in domestic football opening
seasons.
Striker Henry Kisekka's goals in opening four minutes and seconds before the water
break gave the Mariners the first CFL in eight years and 30 times in all since their first
win in 1939. Before today' win Mohun Bagan last won the CFL in 2009. The clinching
of CFL comes a match with hand with 26 points from ten games.
Coach Sankarlal Chakraborty had fielded his first choice lineup in a 4-4-2 formation
with Sankar Roy under the bar.
The Mariners dominated the whole proceeding and did all in first half scoring two
goals.
Henry Kisekka scored his fifth goal of the campaign after beautifully chest-trapping
Bagui’s long ball from the right flank. Mohun Bagan dominated in every angle with
attacking forays with Pintu Mahata and Bagui combined well on the right wing and on
the other side, Britto and Ambekar complimented each other magnificently.
Mohun Bagan will play their concluding match against Mohammedan Sporting at
