Kolkata, Aug 8 (UNI) Mohun Bagan today strongly condemned the vandalisation of an arch, which was erected by East Bengal Club to mark their pre-centenary celebration in the maidan, by some supporters wearing Mohun Bagan and assured to bear the expenses for renovation of the same.
"We have come to know from social media that some supporters wearing Mohun Bagan jersey have brought down the overhead gate which was erected by East Bengal Club to commemorate their centenary celebration.
"We condemn this nasty and unethical behaviour in the strongest of words. We have sent a letter to Kalyan Majumder, General Secretary of East Bengal Club condemning the act and have requested them to re-erect the gate, the cost of the same will be borne by us," one of Mohun Bagan's top officials Srinjoy Bose said in a statement.
