Mohali court sentences ASI to 4 yrs jail in graft case

Chandigarh, Sept 21 (UNI) A Mohali court has sentenced an Assistant Sub inspector (ASI) Anup Singh of Police station Zirkapur for 4 years rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case .

Disclosing this , a spokesperson of State Vigilance Bureau said the accused ASI was caught red-handed for taking bribe of Rs.40,000 from complainant Paramjit Kaur of Panchkula. He was demanding Rs. One lakh to help her in a police case registered against her but the deal was struck at Rs. 40,000.
