Modi taunt on Sonia riles Congress, give privilege notice, disrupt LS

New Delhi, May 10(UNI) The Congress today disrupted the Lok Sabha over the remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally in Kerala where he dared Sonia Gandhi saying it was not him but an Italian court that has named her in AgustaWestland chopper scam. Congress Member trooped to the well after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said the privilege notice on PM's remarks was "under consideration" with her. However, Congress Members demanded that the motion be taken up without delay but the Speaker refused to budge and continued with the Zero Hour. The other Members continue to raise the matters of importance amid din of slogans by the Congress MPs. Congress MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu demanded that the Speaker immediately consider the motion moved by M Veerappa Moily, an MP from Chikkballapur, Karnataka. But the Speaker tried to persuade the protesting Members saying as per rules till the matter was under consideration, they could not raise it in the House. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu also intervened to say even the admissibility of privilege motion against the Prime Minister could not be discussed in the House, it was a call only Speaker could take. Addressing the rally in Thiruvanathpuran in poll-bound state of Kerala on Sunday, the PM reportedly said,"Madam Soniaji, aap ki yeh himmat?(Madam Sonia ji, how dare you?) You are spreading lies… about the helicopter deal... Our government has not mentioned your name or your party’s name in the last two years. The names have come from a court in Italy." Mr Modi reportedly went on to taunt, asking the crowd,"Do you have anyone you know in Italy? Do you have relatives in Italy? Have you been to Italy? Does anyone know you in Italy? Everyone knows who has an Italian connection." UNI PRA SB 1318
