Modi praises exemplary social works done by Bohra community

Indore, MP, Sept 14 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today heaped lavish praises on the Daudi Bohra community for work being done in fields of nutrition, education and cleanliness.
“Such efforts provide strength to the regime in uplifting the country,” said Mr Modi while addressing 'Ashra Mubarak' programme organised by the community on the occasion of Muharram at Saifi Mosque here.
He said that the Daudi Bohra community has played an important role in fostering peace, harmony and patriotism in society. The community took the task to rid several villages in Gujarat from water crisis and malnutrition as a campaign.
“Thousands of people got home as a result of efforts by the community,” said the Premier adding that several of its members are involved in business with honesty while abiding by rules and law.
On the occasion, he praised Madhya Pradesh's commercial capital for outstanding work done in the field of cleanliness and congratulated its denizens as well as the administration.
“In a similar manner, the Madhya Pradesh capital has also done wonders. In a way, the whole state is providing momentum to the Swachhta Abhiyan (cleanliness campaign),” said Mr Modi while appealing residents to join forces during the 'Swachhta hi Seva' fortnight beginning from Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 2.
