Modi lays foundation stone for Railway coach factory in Haryana

Sampla, Oct 9 (UNI) Giving a fillip to ambitious “Make-in-India” initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid a foundation stone for establishing a railway coach refurbishment factory here.
After laying the foundation stone, the prime minister addressed a huge gathering and said, “It would be a state of art factory which will help in overcoming the shortage of rail coaches in the region. It will also give a push to the region’s industrial growth and prosperity.”
The job will be generated in huge numbers and the local youths would get benefit of this development, he added.
Earlier, he also unveiled the state’s largest statue in the name of Dinbandhu Sir Chhoturam, a freedom fighter, farmers rights crusader and social reformer of his time during colonial regime in the country.
Sir Chhoturam was born here in 1881 and through out his life fought for farmers, peasants and downtrodden.
Further elaborating his government carrying out various schemes for the betterment of the society, the prime minister said the government has opened the doors of the banks in an effort to give direct benefits to them.
“Under Jandhan scheme, 66 lakh accounts were opened in Haryana only. Recently, the government has launched India Post Bank. Under it, the people will be able to take service at home through postman.”
Last month, the government has launched “Ayushman Bharat”, one of the largest medical insurance scheme.
“We have launched Ayushman Bharat for farmers and their families because most of their incomes get away in medical. And it’s a matter of pride that the first beneficiary of this scheme is from Haryana and that too a girl,” he added.
On giving Minimum Support Price (MSP), he said the farmers were demanding for better MSP. “Our government has fulfilled its promises of giving 50 per cent on cost. We have raised MSP by Rs 200 to Rs 1750 from Rs 1550.
Earlier, in his welcome address Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar said the people are reaping the benefits of state government’s policies.
“The students are excelling in their studies. 1.25 lakh people get jobs under skill development. Power supply has been provided to every household in Haryana,” said Mr Khattar.
The rail coach factory will be built on a sprawling 161 acre of land in Sampla with an investment of Rs 500 crore. It is estimated that the manufacturing unit will be able to produce 250 modern coaches every year.
