Modi Govt passing off UPA projs as achievements, did not complete even a single project in 44 months: Cong

NEw Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Retorting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement, charging the Congress governments of merely laying foundation stones for schemes in the name of starting new projects, the party on Tuesday said that the Modi Government has been passing off schemes started by UPA as its achievements but had not completed any single project in the last 44 months of its rule.
Talking to reporters ehre, senior Congress leader and AICC spokesperson Pramod Tiwari said,'earlier Mr Modi used to publicise the UPA schemes as that of his government but now he has started the relaying the foundation stones of projects which had earlier been inaugurated by the UPA.'
In this context, he said that the Barmer refinery that the PM had inaugurated today, had its foundation stone laid earlier by former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
'The present government at the Centre did not do anything in the last 44 months of its rule. The BJP governments do not have any scheme of their own which is why they are inaugurating the old schemes of the UPA governments.
The NDA government has been in power for the last 44 months. But there is not a single scheme that they have begun and completed,' he said.
Inaugurating work on the Barmer refinery, Mr Modi charged the Congress governments of laying foundation stones of schemes to mislead the people.
Prime Minister today unveiled commemcement of work of Rajasthan’s first-ever oil refinery worth Rs 43,129 crore Pachpadra village in Barmer district.
Inaugurating the work on the Barmer Refinery in Rajasthan, the prime minister criticised the Congress for reportedly claiming credit for the project, saying that the Opposition party hoodwinks people by just laying foundation stones for projects.
Earlier, in a post on the social media, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala charged the present NDA government at the Centre of delaying work on the Barmer refinery and now claiming credit for the project.
'For fout years, the present government stalled work on the Barmer refinery for four years resulting in a cost escalation of RS 6000 cr and loss of employment to thousands of youths . The PM is just busy taking credit by inaugurating the refinery, whose foundation stone was laid by the previous UPA government in 2013.
For four years, he has been doing just one thing, that is to put his own name on the projects started by the COngress,'Mr Surjewala said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the commencement of work at the oil refinery in Rajasthan’s Barmer district.
The state of the art refinery will be first of its kind in the country. The refinery is expected to change the growth landscape of Rajasthan and western parts of the state in particular.
