Modi Govt anniversary : Congress takes dig for want of action against "corrupt leaders"

New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) As the Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre celebrates its second anniversary today highlighting achievements, the principal Opposition Congress opted to take a dig at the Prime Minister for want of "action against the ruling BJP's corrupt leaders" in various cases and non-fulfillment of his commitments. For targeting Mr Modi and "Corrupt" leaders, the party this morning posted a pictorial tweet on its official page accusing the Prime Minister of not translating his commitments into action. The party quoted from the speech delivered by Mr Modi on April 14, 2014 during his hectic election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls, in which he had assured of appropriate punishment to corrupt MPs or MLAs. "After Govt formation I can assure you that we will set up special courts to punish those MPs and MLAs who have committed serious crimes, they will go behind bars irrespective of political affiliations", the party wrote in the tweet. It also pasted pictures of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan(Madhya Pradesh), Vasundhara Raje(Rajasthan), Dr Raman Singh(Chhattisgarh) and Maharashtra Minister Pankaja Munde, who had been accused of indulgence in various scams including Lalitgate, Vyapam scam and other irregularities. "Is Modi ji too scared to act against corrupt BJP leaders and Chief Ministers, or is there another reason?", the party taunted. UNI SS1049
