Modi, Gadkari, other leaders wish Sonia on her birthday

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and other leaders on Thursday extended their warm wishes to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on her 75th birthday.
Taking to micro-blogging site, twitter, the PM wrote, "Best wishes to Smt Sonia Gandhi Ji on her birthday. Praying for her long life and good health."
Extending his best wishes, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in a tweet wrote, Birthday greetings to the President of the Indian National Congress party Smt Sonia Gandhi Ji. May you be blessed with good health and a long life."
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal also extended greetings to the Congress president and prayed for her long and healthy life. "Birthday greetings to Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji. Praying for her long and healthy life," Kejriwal tweeted.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief, MK Stalin in a tweet wrote, "On the birthday of Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi, I wish her good health and happiness. The decision of Smt Sonia to not celebrate her birthday in the wake of the death of our CDS Bipin Rawat shows her maturity and commitment to the nation, which I greatly respect."
Congress leaders also took to twitter to wish the party chief. "All who have known & worked with Mrs Sonia Gandhi would wish her a happy birthday & many more years of good health and fulfillment in the service of the nation," Congress MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted.
In a tweet, the Congress general secretary KC Venugopal wrote, "A symbol of strength, service & sacrifice, Hon'ble Congress President Smt Sonia Gandhi is an inspiration to one and all. I wish her all the health and happiness on her birthday."
The Congress President has decided not to celebrate her birthday, in the wake of death of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and others in the tragic chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
She also urged her party workers and supporters to strictly avoid any celebrations in the wake of the tragedy on Wednesday.
