New Delhi, Nov 7 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today invited the United Kingdom to participate in the 'Make in India Programme' in defence manufacturing, aerospace and electronics engineering, and take advantage of India's liberal FDI policies in these areas. In his address at India-UK Tech Summit here, Mr Modi said, 'We also expect ‘Make in India’ to be a key sector of bilateral engagement. Advanced manufacturing is a special endeavour under this programme. The UK as a leading player can benefit from our liberal FDI policies in defense manufacturing, aerospace and electronics engineering.' Mr Modi said he feels that India and the UK can partner in harnessing the vast traditional knowledge base in India coupled with modern scientific investigation to provide a holistic approach to preventive healthcare. 'This can help address some of the modern life style diseases that we face,' he said. He said in the current global environment, India and the UK faced several economic challenges which directly affect trade and commerce.
