Modernisation of cooperative institutions on cards: Min Kannababu

Kakinada, Dec 8 (UNI) Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation on Sunday said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was taking steps to modernise the cooperative institutions in the state and already a committee was constituted for this purpose.

Participating as the chief guest at the swearing in ceremony of Anantha Udaya Bhaskar as the new Chairman of the District cooperative central bank (DCCB) at the bank premises here on Sunday, he said, the functioning of cooperative societies in the East Godavari agency was not up to the mark and needed overhauling.

He advised the new chairman to pay special attention on improving the functioning of these societies and also to revive the past glory of the district Bank. The Minister further said that Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy was rewarding the followers with nominated posts following the footsteps of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and rendering justice to SC ST, BC and Minorities.

Pointing out that there were several allegations of corruption and irregularities against the DCCB bank, Minister has advised Chairman Uday Bhaskar to set right the situation by effective functioning and develop it as a model bank. City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy has chaired the function.

Uday Bhaskar has taken charge as the Chairman, Illa Satyagopalakrishna, Bandaru Sattiraju, Polisetti Somaraju, Pantham Durga Bhavani, Settibattula Kumara Raja and Syed Mohiuddin as the directors. MLAs Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna, Jakkampudi Raja, Pendem Dorababu, Kondepudi Chittibabu, Parvata Poornachandra Prasad, Nagulapalli Dhanalakshmi ,former Minister Koppana Mohanarao, YSRCP city unit president Ragireddi Kumar, DCO Pandurangarao were among those attended.
