Moderate to heavy rains hit Delhi; mercury drops to 34.1 degrees

New Delhi, July 16 (UNI) Moderate to heavy rains on Monday lashed various parts of the city, bringing relief for Delhiites from the hot and humid conditions while resulting in waterlogging and traffic jams in various parts of the city.
The maximum temperature fell to 34.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average from Sunday’s 35.4 degrees Celsius.
“From 0830 hrs to 1730 hrs, the Safdarjung observatory recorded 32 mm rainfall, while 30.8 mm at Lodhi Road, 25.2 mm at Palam, 38.6 mm at Ridge and 1.7 at Aya Nagar,” a weather official said .
