Mizoram rallies against drug abuse in Independence Day walkathon

Aizawl, Aug 14: In a proactive step to combat the escalating drug crisis in the state, the Excise & Narcotics Department of the Government of Mizoram organised a “Walkathon - Walk Against Drugs” on August 14, 2024, marking the country’s 78th Independence Day.
The event, held under the theme ‘Together we can create a safer, healthier, and drug-free community,’ saw widespread participation from various sections of society, underscoring the state's commitment to eradicating drug abuse.
Z Lalhmangaiha, Commissioner of Excise & Narcotics and chairman of the programme, opened the event by welcoming participants and emphasising the severe impact of drug abuse across Mizoram.
