Aizawl, Oct 3((UNI) Mizoram police have seized drugs, narcotics, and psychotropic substances valued at over Rs 188.64 crore from January to October this year, according to Lalbiakthanga Khiangte, Inspector General of Police (IGP) for law and order and Chief Public Relations Officer of the state police.
Khiangte stated that 305 criminal cases have been filed, and 412 individuals have been arrested in connection with drug trafficking and peddling over the past 10 months.
During this period, police seized 67.82 kilograms of heroin, worth over Rs 20.34 crore, and arrested 341 people. They also confiscated 480.884 kilograms of methamphetamine tablets, valued at more than Rs 62.51 crore, with 44 suspects allegedly involved in meth trafficking from neighbouring Myanmar.
