Guwahati, Oct 22 (UNI) Mizoram Commerce and Industry Minister Dr R Lalthangliana today stressed on development of border infrastructure for increased trade with Bangladesh, pointing that informal business was going on between the two countries although substantial formal trade was yet to catch on.
Addressing the inaugural session of the two-day India Bangladesh Stakeholders’ Meet here, Dr Lalthangliana said, “There is a lack of infrastructure at both sides. Due to it, formal trade is not happening. But informal trade is going on.”
He said, Mizoram is working on building border infrastructure, including a bridge over Thega river which would be completed soon, providing last mile connectivity in the remote areas and is working on an integrated customs point.
