Mizoram CM Lalduhoma advocates population growth

Aizawl, Dec 4 (UNI) Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Wednesday emphasised the need for population growth in the state, citing its sparse population density as a pressing concern.
“Zofate (the broader term for ethnic Mizo tribes) need to grow in numbers. Compared to other states, Mizoram’s population density remains sparse. We have enough land to accommodate more people,” the Chief Minister said, addressing the second day of Zofest 2024 at Lalbuanga Hall, West Phaileng.
He added that promoting population growth aligns with his government’s policy, hinting at plans to incentivise families with more than three children.
