Dindigul, Tamil Nadu Jun 24 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled a petrol bomb at the house of an AIADMK Councillor on the Bungalow Pettai road at Begampur, here early today. Police said the miscreants hurled a bottle filled with petrol lit using a wick at the house of Mohammed Iqbal, 38th ward councilor of Dindigul Corporation. The Molotov Cocktail hit the grill gate and fell on the portico, but did not explode. Senior police officials visited the house and seized the unexploded petrol bomb for investigation. Police suspect that the petrol bomb attack might have been the fall out of dissent among a section of AIADMK men over the party’s decision to support BJP’s Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind. A flux board of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami kept at Begampur was also found torn, this morning. Dindigul town police have registered a case and are investigating. UNI GSM CS 1207 /1214
