Minorities organisation extends support to Nitish in election

Patna October 30 (UNI) National Minorities Reservation Front on Friday announced its support to JD(U) in ongoing Bihar assembly elections.
President of the Front Parvez Siddiqui handed over a letter to this effect to state JD(U) president Vashisht Narayan Singh, maintaining that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had taken a number of concrete steps to improve the lot of minorities in Bihar. Impressed with commitment of Mr Kumar for the cause of minorities, his organisation had decided to extend support to his party in ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections, he added.
State JD(U) president Mr Singh said that the gesture shown by Mr Siddiqui had confirmed the fact that Mr Kumar had been the champion of the cause of minorities in his long political career. If given opportunity to serve for another term, Kumar would draw the line further creating new mark for welfare and development of minorities in Bihar, he added.

All 15 candidates for two LS seats clear scrutiny

Itanagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Altogether, 168 nominations filed for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were found to be valid after scrutiny of papers on Thursday, while the process of scrutinising nominations against Itanagar and Daporijo constituencies has been adjourned till Friday, the results of which would be out by 11 a.m., an election official said.
