Ministry of AYUSH develops drugs for Dengue, Cancer

New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) The Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) has developed drugs against various ailments, varying from mosquito-borne diseases like Dengue to fatal diseases like cancer to chronic ones like migrain and asthma, the Rajya Sabha was informed today. According to Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik, the Research Councils including the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Science (CCRAS), the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) and autonomous bodies under the Ministry of AYUSH are engaged in Research and Development of new drugs. The drugs are effective against diseases like Geriatric Health, Bronchial Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus, wound healing, Lymphatic Filariasis, Dengue, Ovarian Cancer and Migrain, Mr Naik said in a written reply. It also develops drugs for Fibroid Uterus, Constipation, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Abdominal Worm, he added. UNI RJ SHK 1712
