New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) The BJP leaders and those with the government have lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team for various achievements and reaching numerous milestones in diplomacy and other fields.
"Delighted that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj ji will be guest of honour at next OIC foreign ministers meet in UAE. Congratulations to PM (Modi) and EAM for this breakthrough that recognises contribution of India," tweeted M J Akbar, former Minister of State for External Affairs.
In fact during his stint as MoS External Affairs, Mr Akbar had focused a lot on the Gulf region.
India on Saturday accepted the invitation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the inaugural plenary of the 46th session of council of foreign ministers of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on March 1.
"We see this invitation as a milestone in our comprehensive strategic partnership with the UAE. We also see this invitation as a welcome recognition of the presence of 185 million Muslims in India and of their contribution to its pluralistic ethos, and of India’s contribution to the Islamic world,"
the MEA statement said.
"The Seoul Peace Prize being bestowed upon PM Modi is a matter of great pride for 130 crore Indians. It not only acknowledges the success of PM Modi’s progressive policies and reforms but also signals the rise of India on the world stage," BJP chief Amit Shah has tweeted.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley write: "Congratulations to every Indian as PM Shri Narendra Modi ji received the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize-2018 today for his contributions to international cooperation, fostering global economic growth & making efforts for regional and global peace".
Meanwhile, BJP MP and president of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Vinay Sahasrabuddhe has complimented the Prime Minister's farsightedness in setting an agenda of G-All globally for unleashing a dose of spiritual democracy and Vasudeva Kutumbakam.
"I will say a new chapter has been written in the history of Kumbh. Prime Minister has taken a giant step to set the agenda for G-All.....something extra ordinary in a world which was more committed with a group of 20 nations or seven or five nations. All were excited by lifetime experience," he said in reference to participation of citizens from 182 countries from across the globe at the Kumbh this year.
BJP leader and a member of party's Good Governance cell, Virendra Sachdeva also congratulated Prime Minister for receiving the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize and donating the entire prize money for Namami Gange.
"Certainly the commitment of PM Modi for Maa Ganga is tremendous. The day he went to Kashi he said Maa Ganga has called her and he promised to work for cleaner Ganga. From budgetary allocations to taking self initiatives to clean Ghats PM has moved ahead," he said.
"Now he has donated cash prize of Rs 2 lakh dollar for Namani Ganga from Seoul Peace Prize. And this is not the first time, he did so. Recently all gifts received from overseas were auctioned and proceeds of that also went to Namani Ganga," Mr Sachdeva pointed out.
